As of this comment, Ranmaru now possesses the stand Star Platinum from jojo's bizarre adventure. |
Super Strength |
Star Platinum possesses immense strength, being able to throw a Jeep carrying four men and a girl out of the path of an 18-wheeler with one hand, later pulling the same Jeep out of a canyon with only a car as a counter-weight, and destroy large artificial diamonds within seconds. |
Super Speed |
Star Platinum can catch a bullet fired at point-blank range, and throw a flurry of powerful punches within seconds. |
Self-Preservation |
Star Platinum possesses the awareness and reaction speed to protect Jotaro in many instances that he himself seems unaware; halting a bullet he experimentally shoots at his own head; protecting him while frozen by DIO's Time Stop and reviving him from near-death by directly pumping his heart. |
Precision |
Star Platinum is incredibly precise; able by hand to surgically remove an object embedded in a person's skull without ill effect, catch a bullet between his thumb and forefinger in midair, and caught Lovers in midair as well. |
Precision |
Star Platinum utilizes eagle-like eyesight throughout Stardust Crusaders. At some point, Jotaro, with Star Platinum's eyes, could see across a desert for four kilometers, as well as identify meaningful details, such as a specific type of fly in high-resolution images. It can also follow a card shuffle performed by a professional gambler, subsequently recounting the entire new order of the deck. |
Timestop |
Star Platinum is capable of stopping time much like its 'brother' stand, The World, but for humans (which Ranmaru is) stopping time for longer than five seconds is the absolute limit. However, she hasn't unlocked the ability to do this yet. |

Character Name: Ranmaru Rindou
Character Canon: Good luck girl!
Background and/or History:
The wiki isn't well maintained, so I'll write something here just for Ran's arc (it's the only one she gets) and try to keep it concise!
- Good luck girl takes place in an unnamed city in Japan in the year 2008. It fearures the day to day struggle of Ichiko Sakura, a teenage girl born with unnatural good fortune that prevents anything bad ever happening to her, as she attempts to navigate her life after the arrival of Momiji Binbouda, a god of misfortune who seeks to take all of Ichiko's good fortune due to a universal karmic imbalance it causes.
- Ranmaru is introduced initially as an antagonist as after she steps in to assist Ichiko - who has been wrongfully accused of committing a crime by the police - she finds herself pinned with the blame and falsely accused of coercing Ichiko into committing the crime on Ranmaru's behalf. Ranmaru swears vengeance, but Ichiko is convinced she'll never see her again.
- Ranmaru transfers into Ichiko's school and challenges her to a fight, losing due to Ichiko's good fortune and is forced to transfer schools away due to her loss. However she transfers back to Ichiko's school the next day, given she was never told she couldn't, and swears vengeance again Ichiko for what she did.
- Ranmaru's character arc involves her learning to accept herself for who she is; she finds it hard to fit in at school due to her behaviour. None of the girls in her class can relate to her tomboyish nature, while the boys are all intimidated by the fact she's far stronger than her. Ichiko and Momiji approach claiming they want to help her out, though in reality seek to manipulate her for their own purposes, yet she's so genuinely touched and appreciative of their help they both lose the will to do so. When Ichiko finds out her strict father admonishes her for trying to change her appearance, she challenges him and convinces him to let her live her life. Touched by Ichiko's kindness, Ranmaru strives to become her first and very best friend.
- Ranmaru then spends much of her time trying to spend time with Ichiko and improve their friendship, only to be rebuked and pushed away by Ichiko's closed off nature. Seeking to better their relationship, Ranmaru pushes a little too hard and forces Ichiko to leave school without being seen by her by following some other girls in their class who hate her. However, she's kidnapped against her will leaving Ranmaru to rescue her. After a near death experience in which Ranmaru stops a building from collapsing on everyone, the two share a heartfelt moment, embrace, and Ichiko finally accepts Ranmaru as her friend.
- In the following chapters up to her canon point, Ranmaru and Ichiko are targeted by a girl in their class who is also a ninja, Nadeshiko Adenokouji, seeking to kill them so they can't get close to her crush. However even after how terrible she is to them, Ranmaru strives to help her foil an arranged marriage she is forced into by her parents - after convincing Ichiko to help. When Ichiko's father makes a surprise return and Ichiko reveals her hatred of him, Ranmaru is the one who convinces everyone to help repair the bond between them so that Ichiko can be a little happier and pretty much spearheads the whole initiative to do so. She also attends Tsuwabaki's family party at their new mansion and when Ichiko martyr's herself so everyone else can be saved, Ranmaru is the one who leads the charge to save her. Some minor slice of life chapters happen in between all of this, but they aren't too important.
Personality:
In a lot of ways, Ranmaru doesn't really go out of the way to break the shounen cliche she fits herself into. Boisterous, aggressive and honest to a fault, Ranmaru's personality is the character equivalent to a train with no brakes. If someone crosses her, she can easily lash out physically without any hesitation. If one of her friends needs her help, she'll step in and help in any way she can. She tends to try and solve problems headfirst by addressing things directly rather than beating around the bush. She even has no problem challenging people to fights to settle disputes, believing she can even establish a rapport with people this way. She can be naive and a bit simple, but at the same time her methods are unusual and far too violent for the era she lives in.
However, given she's a girl playing the role of your typical shounen protagonist, this does cause some conflict in her every day life. One of the main points of contention for Ranmaru's character is acceptance; given she was a tomboy with more interest in traditionally male oriented hobbies, mainly just...fighting, a lot of the girls in her class couldn't relate to her. Likewise, the guys in her class couldn't accept a girl being strong enough to beat them all in physical activities, leading to them to ignore her as well. Isolated, Ranmaru was a more frustrated and less open person because of it, and it's only after the issue is revolved in her arc that she becomes the more overtly friendly, honest character she's known as. Even so, it's still a touchy subject; when kanna's tsukumogami refers to her as a gorilla woman, she tells Momiji - who was in a fight with her - to absolutely destroy her until there's nothing left, when before she had no strong feelings towards her either way.
With that being said, a huge part of Ranmaru's character is her honest and open nature and how it defines her relationships. She's a very forgiving person - willing to forgive Ichiko for everything she did and even Nadeshiko for trying to kill her - even going so far as to rescue the former when she was kidnapped and the latter when she was being pushed into an arranged marriage. She's also the type of person who can't help but intervene in other people's lives - she's honestly pretty pushy about it - if she thinks they're trying to keep their problems to themselves. It's this pushy nature of hers that actually allowed her to break down Ichiko's emotional barriers erected by the trauma that came from her abandonment issues, allowing her to be the first person Ichiko truly opened her heart to. It's even why, despite the fact he caused her a great amount of stress, Ranmaru was willing to overlook Ichiko's hatred of her own father and give the man a chance to explain himself, even going so far as to help mend the bond between them all so Ichiko could be a little happier. Given her own issues with being accepted by others, this is likely the root cause for Ranmaru's willingless to give everyone a chance, no matter how they appear on the surface.

Powers/Abilities:
Ranmaru's abilities are very straightforward: she has superhuman physical capabilities. There's no actual explanation for it in canon since she's one of the few explicitly "normal" characters who can perform supernatural feats of strength, so it's apparently just due to the fact she eats and sleeps training regimes that'd kill anyone else.
Strength: Can hold up a collapsed building by herself, kicked a dude so high into the sky he disappeared and if she's running and there's anything in the way (including the likes of trees, cars or walls) they tend to just break and give way, allowing her to charge forward uninhibited. It's hard to define exactly how strong she is, but generally speaking if she can punch it she can break it, even if it takes a few shots.
Durability: She falls from 13 storey heights on a daily basis and it doesn't even slow her down. Her body would also have to be strong enough to survive the force of her punches and kicks, so standard "she can take a lot of punishment" label applies here.
Speed: She can move fast enough to run on water without sinking. Generally her speed matches her other capabilities, so uh...yeah. gotta go fast.
Aside from her literal superhuman abilities, Ranmaru has been trained by her father since a very young age in the art of her faamily's signature martial arts style. Considering he was considered the strongest man in Japan at her age and she's surpassed him now that he's an even stronger adult, it's safe to say she's highly skilled in combat.
Inventory: Just the clothes on her back, although she keeps a photo of her and her friends inside of her hat.

▷ IC Permissions▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Ran is very touchy! She's likely to shoulder slap, back pat or even headlock you five minutes within knowing you. She doesn't mind getting any of this back either (from either gender) but expect anything beyond that (in a casual sense) to get her flustered, and maybe you'll get smack or yelled at. |
